Painting FAQ
The questions Georgetown homeowners and business owners ask us most, about pricing, prep, products and scheduling.
Estimates & Process
How quickly can I get an estimate?
We schedule free on-site estimates within 24 hours across our service area, then send a transparent written quote detailing every prep step, coat and product.
What are your working hours?
We work Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Commercial projects can be scheduled after hours or on weekends.

What prep do you do before exterior painting?
Every exterior receives power washing, scraping of loose or failing paint, caulking of gaps and seams, and priming of bare or repaired surfaces before any topcoat goes on.

Can you help with HOA color approval?
Yes. Our color consultation includes pulling approved palettes and preparing sample boards so you can submit to your HOA or, in Old Town Georgetown, meet HARC historic guidelines.

Can I stay home while you paint the interior?
Absolutely. We work room by room, use low- or zero-VOC paint on request and clean up daily so the rest of your home stays comfortable and usable.

How long will my kitchen be out of use for cabinet painting?
Most kitchens remain partially usable throughout. Doors are removed, finished in a controlled environment and reinstalled over several days, followed by a cure period with gentle use.

Can you paint our business without closing?
Yes. We schedule offices, retail spaces and restaurants on nights and weekends, resetting the space each morning so you open on time.

How long should I wait to stain a new fence?
New cedar or pressure-treated pine needs to dry until a moisture check confirms it is ready to accept stain. We test before starting, which is especially important in Georgetown's humid springs.

Pricing
Will my price change once the job starts?
No. You receive a transparent written estimate before work begins, and we do not add surprise upcharges. If you decide to add scope, we price it in writing first.
Our Company
Do you use subcontractors?
Never. Every project is completed by our own in-house crews, led by Field Superintendent Mateo Flores, with workers' compensation coverage for every crew member.
Are you insured?
Yes. Limestone & Lacquer carries $2 million in general liability insurance and workers' compensation for all crew. We provide certificates on request.

Do you offer low-VOC or zero-VOC paint?
Yes. Low-VOC and zero-VOC options are available on request for homes with children, pets or allergies, and for occupied offices and restaurants.

Can you paint stucco that has hairline cracks?
Yes. We patch cracks and apply an elastomeric coating system that flexes to bridge hairline movement, which is common on Hill Country stucco homes affected by Central Texas soil shifts.

Do you paint ceilings, trim and doors too?
Yes. Interior projects can include walls, ceilings, crown molding, trim, baseboards and doors, quoted together or separately based on your priorities.

Can my kitchen cabinets be painted?
Solid wood and MDF cabinets take paint very well, and oak can be grain-filled for a smooth, factory-like finish. Peeling thermofoil is generally a replacement candidate, and we will tell you honestly during the estimate.

Can you match my wall texture after a repair?
Yes. We match orange peel, knockdown and smooth finishes, then prime and paint so the patch blends seamlessly into the surrounding wall.
Related: Drywall Repair
Why do my drywall cracks keep coming back?
Central Texas clay soils expand and contract seasonally, reopening poorly taped joints. We re-tape and feather repairs properly, and flag any cracks that suggest deeper structural movement.

Should I choose semi-transparent or solid stain?
Semi-transparent stain shows the wood grain and fades gradually over time. Solid stain hides weathered wood and lasts longer on fences, but it can peel on horizontal deck boards that collect water.
